Welcome to Grit & Grace

Welcome to Grit & Grace

Hi! I’m so glad you’re here.

If you’ve ever felt tired of chasing fitness perfection, overwhelmed by diet culture, or like your worth is tied to a number on the scale — you’re in the right place. Grit & Grace was created for you.

Why Grit & Grace Exists

I spent years in a cycle — tracking every bite I ate, then swinging the other way and eating everything in sight when hunger finally caught up to me. I pushed through intense workouts with no rest days, convinced that shrinking into smaller pant sizes would finally make me feel confident and worthy.

I thought that if I could just do everything “right,” if I could finally get to that size XS, I’d feel at peace in my body.

Instead, I ended up burned out — physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Grit & Grace was born out of that burnout. Out of the realization that God didn’t create us to punish our bodies into submission — He created us for more. He made our bodies good. He made each of us unique: in size, in interests, and in purpose.

He created us to move in ways that bring life, not depletion.
To fuel ourselves with care.
To grow stronger — not just physically, but in faith, purpose, and joy.

What Makes This Different?

If you’ve arrived at Grit & Grace, my guess is that you’re tired of always working toward a calorie goal, pant size, or number on the scale. You’re exhausted. You need rest more than anything — but might be too afraid to take it.

This was me.

I trained for marathons as an excuse to log miles every day. When running led to an injury, I swapped it for walking 25,000 steps a day — still pushing, still striving. All the while, I just wished I could stop.

So eventually… I did.

I walked a reasonable amount each day because I enjoy it. I showed up for my strength workouts because they support my health. I stopped tracking my food and started learning what made me feel good — even when that meant the scale went up.
Even when my pants fit differently.
Even when I needed a pant size up.

Deep breath.

What I found — eventually — is freedom.

Freedom to feel exhausted on a Tuesday because my kiddo was up all night… and give myself the grace to move my workout to another day.

Freedom to not panic when we eat out as a family after a football game.

Freedom to start my weekend slowly — not racing to get a workout in before anyone wakes up.

It’s really nice on this side of things, friend.
And I want this for you.

A Note on Nutrition

Before we dive into what this space is all about, here’s something important:

My expertise is in exercise, not nutrition. Grit & Grace is focused on redefining your relationship with movement — helping you strength train to support your health and find joy in it, not to lose weight.

While I’ll offer guidance on how to fuel your workouts and share my personal experience stepping away from dieting, please seek out a registered dietitian or counselor if you’re struggling with disordered eating. Exercise is just one piece of healing — and you deserve support in all areas.

Give yourself grace. Healing will happen — one day at a time.

What Grit & Grace Is All About

This space is for women who want to:

  • Build strength without shame
  • Move their bodies as an act of worship, not punishment
  • Let go of food guilt and embrace a non-diet approach to nutrition

  • Join a community of women who are done trying to “fix” their bodies

Here, you’ll find encouragement, education, and practical tools for faith-based fitness that doesn’t revolve around weight loss — but instead centers on strength, energy, confidence, and honoring the body God gave you.
